Features of good practice observed included, amongst others, "the availability of bursary funding for vulnerable learners", "high quality resources" and "a broad range of teaching methods appropriately applied in different learning situations".

In 2007 Deutsche Bank initiated a project, "Reach Higher", with the school and The Outward Bound Trust, which runs adventure-based educational programmes for young people. Robin Gibb CBE has become the first official ambassador of The Outward Bound Trust, the UK’s leading provider of experiential learning in the outdoors.
